Grading when you’re offline — and when the AI is having a bad day
Grading is deadline work. Here is what happens when the wifi drops or an AI provider has an outage — and why your papers are never stuck.
Grading does not wait for perfect conditions. The wifi drops in the back corner of the building, the signal dies on the ride home, or an AI provider has an outage on the exact afternoon you sat down to grade. A tool that only works when everything else does is a tool you cannot plan around. SuperGrader is built to keep going when the connection — or the AI — does not.
Offline: your papers are never stuck
When you are offline, you can still open the app, browse your classes, and photograph papers. Anything you try to grade is held in a durable queue on your device — it survives a reload or a closed tab — and grades automatically the moment the connection returns. You are told clearly that you are offline and what is waiting, so nothing is silently lost and nothing pretends to be finished.
When a provider has an outage
Reading handwriting depends on AI models, and those models occasionally go down. SuperGrader does not depend on a single one: when the primary provider fails, grading falls back to a direct backstop so a provider’s bad afternoon is not yours. The paper still gets read, and you may not even notice the switch.
Why this matters more than it sounds
Grading is deadline work. A tool that fails on Sunday night — when no support ticket is fast enough to help — costs you the one evening you had. Designing for the bad connection and the provider outage is not a nice-to-have; it is the difference between a tool you trust with a deadline and one you keep a backup plan for.
Nothing changes about how it grades
Offline or online, backstop or primary, the rules are the same: your key decides, uncertain reads are flagged, and your corrections stick. Reliability is not a different grading mode — it is the same grading, available when you actually need it.
